2016 FAMILIES ROUNDUP | FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER AYRSHIRE

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER AYRSHIRE

Photographing families is without a doubt the favourite part of my job. My life has completely changed since becoming a Mumma and one of the perks of what I do is getting to hang out with the little, mad crew on a weekly basis.

The honesty in them, the unposed situations, the genuine smiles and sincerity in their actions is addictive as a photographer. Watching a family just be themselves is the easiest thing in the world to do.

"There is beauty in the everyday. I have a natural, modern and relaxed approach to my work; best of all, my sessions are ridiculously fun."

Professional photography doesn’t need to be for special occasions only. Celebrate just being your awesome selves!

I simply give you all of your edited images (around 30 in high resolution with full printing rights). Your images will be delivered in a private, password protected, online gallery for you to download and share with family and friends.

Real life is the new family portrait.

I will only be editing to George Michael this week. He will always be one of my favourite artists and this song in particular is one of my faves and is the perfect soundtrack to my 2016 family roundup "George Michael & Mary J Blige - As"

2016 BABIES ROUNDUP | NEWBORN & BABY PHOTOGRAPHER AYRSHIRE

NEWBORN & BABY PHOTOGRAPHER AYRSHIRE

When I started my business 18 months ago I wasn’t sure how my style of lifestyle photography was going to be received in my area where the more traditional studio photography is king. The more inquiries that started coming in, I realised more families wanted their special moments, including the birth of their new baby, to be documented in a natural and lifestyle way.

I want to thank each and every one of my clients for booking me! It is a privilege to be included in such a special time in their lives.

My photography reflects the connection between you and your little people, however, fun or messy and I want to capture you and your family in a real, unscripted and authentic way. I truly believe 'Real life is the new family portrait.'

I love to photograph older babies as well so don’t worry if you never captured your baby within the first 14 days, some of my most fun sessions have been with 6 week + babies.

I only take a limited number of newborn bookings each month to keep date flexible as we know babies don’t always arrive when they are meant to.

There is only one man and one track to listen to while editing my 2016 roundup and its 'Pharrell Willliams - Happy'

CAMERON | 10 DAYS | AYRSHIRE BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

I have the utmost respect for Mums who can manage to drag themselves out of a tracksuit in the first few days after giving birth. So, imagine the respect I had for Cameron's gorgeous Mum who rocked a dress and kick ass heels for her son's session!

This was one of the first newborn sessions where we took ourselves outside and I loved every minute of it.. and try to do it whenever I can now. It was nice just hanging out in their beautiful home before taking a walk to the park in the sunshine.

Writing this little guys blog gave me an excuse (not that I need one) to listen to one of my all time feel-good songs by my favourite male soul, funk singer 'ROY AYERS - EVERYBODY LOVES THE SUNSHINE' Scroll to the end and have a listen - you won't be disappointed.

PHOTO-A-DAY FAMILY PROJECT | JANUARY 2016 | PART 2

Photo-A-Day Family Project, Part 2... Looking back through these photos makes me giggle. If you've ever raised a toddler you know that every day at least a 1000 tiny incidents happen that are so easy to over look or forget. I live with a tiny, foreign speaking madman who is so filled with love, rage, excitement and adventure that it is sometimes hard to keep up. But i do, just.

I think this age (2 years 3 months) is my favourite so far. He is starting to talk, his personality is more defined. We understand each other more. And what makes it even more amazing he's a total mummy's boy. Age 1 to 2 was harder than I ever imagined. I honestly didn't have a clue what was going on. I tried my hardest to muddle through the tantrums, hitting, pushing and sheer madness of it all and I came out the other side 'relatively' unscathed.

Here's to all the mums and dads of toddlers out there... I salute your daily efforts.

I can hand on heart say I cherish every one of these moments as hard work as they are as this crazy journey is denied to so many.

PHOTO-A-DAY PROJECT | JANUARY 2016

I have LOVED every minute of my Family Photo-A-Day Project!

This has been my first year documenting the antics of my little tribe for the month of January and I am so glad I have these moments captured forever. I spend so much time photographing other peoples families that I sometimes I don't make the effort to photograph my own.

We spend so much time outdoors doing crazy toddler activities that when I sit back and look at these photographs i'm chuffed we are raising our son in an active, outdoor, creative environment. We are spoiled for choice with things to do in this beautiful part of the world. Who would of thought that Ayrshire, a little town in the West Coast of Scotland could be so damn interesting.

This is week 1 of my month long project and although most of these photos didn't make the cut to the final image they are too good not to share. I hope you've them as much as i do.
